Robert L. Miller Sr. Veteran’s Center
The Robert L. Miller Sr. Veteran’s Center (MVC) is a separate building on the CFH campus and is home to 24 male homeless veterans. Veterans work with VA Liaison and MVC staff to remove barriers to self-sufficiency and have access to addiction treatment, individual and group therapy, clothes and meals. They are given support as they process their PTSD and other medical issues.
The 24 beds at the MVC are full on a daily basis.
The Center provides “Veteran Amnesty” 365 nights out of the year. Veterans are able to stay there overnight (8pm-8am), and will receive a place to sleep, shower, and have breakfast in the morning.
Veterans are also able to apply for a bed at the Center for the Homeless until one becomes available at the MVC.
Success for Veterans:
As of June 30, 346 homeless veterans have resided at the MVC.
82% of these Vets have been placed in permanent housing.
Of those who reside at the MVC, 50% are working part-time or full time.
Others are enrolled in courses at area colleges, in the CFH Adult Education program, or are volunteering in the community!
