If you have general questions about donations, please call Lisa Knox at (574) 282-8700 or by email at lknox@cfh.net.

See below for specific areas in which you can help. Thank you for your support!

Monetary Donations

The Center is a registered 501(c)3 organization and all gifts are tax deductible.  At various points throughout the year, the Center has "matching gifts" opportunities and campaigns supported by generous benefactors.   By supporting the Center during this "matching" periods, your financial donations are maximized.  This allows us even greater flexibility in meeting our vision.

One of the realities that we face each day at the Center for the Homeless is the challenge of raising money.

Helping the homeless requires individuals like you to make a commitment to help those among us who are in the greatest need.  This is particularly true at the Center, where less than 10% of our annual budget comes from government grants.

You can make an online contribution to the Center right now using your credit card by clicking on the following credit card logo banner:

Car Donation Program

The Center for the Homeless offers you the key to helping your community – and receiving a tax deduction for yourself!

The CFH Cars donation program benefits our community by supporting the 200 men, women, and children who call the Center "home" each day.

The Center uses the donated vehicles to sell to current/former guests or to take to auction.  Both ways help to offset the costs of providing life-changing programs that help break the cycle of homelessness in our community. Click here for more information regard our car donation program, or call (574) 234-CARS!

Donation of Goods

Please refer to our critical needs list at the right side of this page for a ranked description of the items we need the most right now.  If you have a specific item in mind that isn't on our list, please contact Lisa Knox at 574 282- 8700, or lknox@cfh.net.

Donation of Food

Because our kitchen serves more than 500 meals each day, donations of food are important to offset tremendous operating costs in this department. For information on what foods are most needed, as well as health department guidelines, please contact our Executive Chef Troy McKee at 574) 282-8700 x 313, or tmckee@cfh.net.

Donation of Services

The donation of services is always needed and appreciated by the Center.  Check out our Volunteer page for the latest availability of existing positions or call Peter Lombardo at (574) 282-8700 x 344 for more information, email: plombardo@cfh.net.

Donation of Stock

Another great way to help out the Center is by donating gifts of common stocks or other securities.  This method of giving allows you to deduct the full market value of the securities for income tax purposes – just as if you had made a cash donation.  The added advantage is that you'll eliminate paying capital gains taxes for which you would be responsible if you sell the assets instead.  Even if you exceed the maximum allowable deduction in the year of the gift, you may be able to extend the deduction over five more years.  The transfer is easy. If you have any questions, please contact Kim Sandefur at 574 282-8700 or by email at ksandefur@cfh.net
